Wayne’s practice centres around complex motor vehicle and credit hire claims along with fraud and indemnity coverage issues, where he is frequently instructed to advise and defend claims relating to coverage or fraudulent and exaggerated claims.

Wayne also has significant experience in broader civil litigation and in particular in handling motor vehicle and property damage matters. He has acted in a wide range of matters involving fire and storm losses, structural failure, impact damage, and construction related defects as well as liability claims involving suspected fraud or non-disclosure.

Wayne routinely appears at mediations, settlement conferences, directions hearings and otherwise instructs counsel in County and Supreme Court matters.

Wayne’s accomplishments include:

• Acting in the successful defence of County Court proceedings arising from suspected staged motor vehicle collision
• Assisting in the national implementation of a digital claims tool for a leading insurer, to support strategies related to credit hire claims
• Advising on complex indemnity and policy interpretation issues, particularly in the context of commercial, domestic and motor vehicle property damage
• Conducting and defending investigations on fraudulent or exaggerated claims
• Representing insurer in coverage disputes, including non-disclosure and misrepresentation issues
• Provided tailored legal training and CPD seminars on recent case law developments, procedural practices and strategies for claims teams.
