Brooke is an experienced insurance litigator who specialises in ACT workers compensation claims as well as Compulsory Third Party (CTP) claims arising in both ACT and NSW jurisdictions. 

Experience & Expertise

Brooke has extensive experience acting for insurers in workers compensation claims, including in-house work with a major insurer where she made key decisions on liability and was primarily involved in dispute resolution of claims. Her commercially-sound approach promotes timely resolution of claims.

In addition to her wide-ranging claims handling experience, Brooke has had extensive involvement and frequently acts for insurers in litigated matters across both metropolitan and regional areas in Local, District, Magistrates’ and Supreme Courts.

She is particularly skilled in solving complex legal problems and successfully mediating damages claims prior to matters proceeding to costly hearings.

Prior to admission to practice, Brooke qualified and worked for 5 years as a deputy court registrar in Victoria. In this role, she developed in-depth knowledge and invaluable legal skills whilst working across the civil, coronial, criminal and victims of crime jurisdictions.

Brooke is well known for being an effective communicator for her clients, implementing appropriate strategies and providing high level strategic advice in order to achieve timely and commercial resolution of claims.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Brooke advised on and acted in a complex and lengthy workers compensation damages trial by jury resulting in a successful outcome for her client.

She has also advised on common law claims made against many large and small businesses as well as various public and private sector entities such as aged-care, hospitals, motor mechanics, factories and abattoirs.

Recognition

Brooke was awarded a Practice Group Workers Compensation Victoria Excellence Award for excellence in customer service.
