Jacqueline is a specialist in the management and defence of complex, media sensitive and high quantum general liability, abuse, professional indemnity, medical malpractice and fraud claims. She also has expertise in providing coverage and indemnity advice as well as navigating multi-insurer arrangements, complex contractual and indemnity obligations between parties.
Jacqueline is a confident advocate and has extensive experience representing clients in court, at multi-party mediations and settlement conferences. She is also skilled in negotiating the commercial resolution of claims and costs recovery.
Jacqueline is an accomplished public speaker and has presented to clients and industry bodies on a variety of legal and insurance related issues including the Civil Liability Act, Risk Management, Law for School Counsellors, Product Recall Claims and Trends, 'Mining' Social Media for Claims Investigating and Privacy legislation.
Jacqueline is known for providing pragmatic and commercial advice. She is also a strategic and assertive litigator who is dedicated to achieving the best outcome for her clients.
Jacqueline is relationship focussed – with clients, opposing solicitors and witnesses. She quickly establishes trust and displays empathy, particularly in highly sensitive matters, which has earned her the respect of her peers and ultimately assists in facilitating early settlement and obtaining exceptional results.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In 2018 Jacqueline successfully defended an educational facility against allegations of discrimination in the Federal Court. In 2020 the matter went on appeal and was ultimately dismissed.
Jacqueline has also acted in the defence of numerous public liability cases where she has negotiated verdicts for the defendant, as well as hundreds of abuse claims which have been delicately managed to achieve excellent outcomes.
