Maureen has over 15 years’ experience in handling personal injuries and Compulsory Third Party (CTP) claims, as well as conducting insurance litigation. This includes significant experience in managing defendant CTP litigation both in Queensland and New South Wales.

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Maureen commenced her legal career in a mid-sized Brisbane law firm, where she became familiar with the provisions of several statutory compensation schemes through acting on behalf of injured plaintiffs across various areas of insurance litigation, including matters arising from motor vehicle accidents, workplace accidents and public liability claims. For more than a decade, Maureen has practised exclusively in the area of CTP insurance litigation, defending both complex and general claims on behalf of various major Australian insurers in both Queensland and New South Wales.

Maureen’s day-to-day practice has evolved to the defence of complex CTP claims, being claims encompassing a wide range of complicated liability, quantum and indemnity issues. Maureen has developed a particular interest and expertise in the defence of dependency claims for wrongful death. She also has experience in the defence of catastrophic injury claims.

Her attention to detail and technical expertise have on many occasions resulted in early and favourable resolution of disputes for her insurer clients. These skills have also contributed to Maureen achieving favourable outcomes for her clients at trial, both in the District Court at Brisbane and in North Queensland.

Maureen is focussed on ensuring her clients’ matters are brought to resolution as cost-effectively and expeditiously as possible, relying on her experience and thorough, but practical, approach to file management to achieve positive outcomes for her clients.
