Moray & Agnew is a leading national law firm of over 700 people, including over 110 partners. We serve our domestic and international clients from offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle, Perth and Cairns.
Built on a solid history in insurance law, client demand has guided our growth into commercial litigation & dispute resolution, construction & projects, corporate & commercial, government, property & development, and workplace legal services. We are an established law firm able to leverage the best of our heritage brand with evolving best practice to consistently deliver service excellence for our clients.
We are organised into three strategic pillars to give our clients access to national and integrated legal services and expertise:
- Insurance – including commercial classes such as financial lines, professional indemnity, public & product liability, life insurance and through to statutory classes such as workers compensation and compulsory third party.
- Commercial & Workplace – spanning corporate and commercial, construction and projects, property and environment, commercial dispute resolution, insolvency, owners corporation and workplace law
- Government – spanning local, state and federal government

HISTORY
Our practice has
origins in 1948 as Sydney H Moray & Co. Moray & Agnew commenced in 1969
when Brian Agnew acquired the insurance
practice of Sydney H Moray & Co. Geoff Connellan is our current National
Managing Partner.
From its beginnings in Sydney, Moray & Agnew’s first interstate office opened in Brisbane in 2000 with two lawyers and support staff. Our Canberra office was next in 2003 and our Melbourne office opened in January 2004.
We established a regional presence in NSW with the opening of our Newcastle office in February 2006.
Our Perth office opened in February 2011, fulfilling the firm’s strategy of Australia-wide coverage and capabilities for our clients and their legal needs.
