Robert is a specialist defendant insurance litigation lawyer with extensive experience in public & product liability and workers compensation matters.

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Robert has intimate knowledge on all aspects of statutory, legislative and common law interpretation, representing self-insured corporations, NSW Treasury Managed Funds and scheme agents in the Personal Injury Commission, District Court, Supreme Court and NSW Court of Appeal.

His meticulous approach and eagerness for delivering high quality, timely and individualised advice focusing on the broader needs and intentions of both employers and insurers, regularly helps to secure significant savings on both actuarial claims and legal costs.

Robert is passionate about client service, ensuring objectives are met from the pre-litigation stage through to hearings where he is a recognised advocate in the Personal Injury Commission, various NSW Courts and alternative dispute resolution forums.

Robert was previously part of a select few of preferred lawyers for one of Australia’s largest private employers in the retail industry.

His approach fosters long-term relationships with clients and relevant stakeholders and safeguards against the confusion that can often arise from complex statutory compensation and common law claims.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Robert has successfully defended a number of matters in the Personal Injury Commission across a wide-range of physical and psychological injury disputes.

In February 2024, he represented one of Australia’s largest self-insurers in a Work Injury Damages matter which proceeded to the NSW District Court where an ex tempore judgement and verdict was delivered (unpublished), finding for the defendant with the plaintiff orders to pay the defendant’s costs.

Ultimately, Robert’s successes are focused around the plethora of cases which are meticulously prepared and resolved as expeditiously as possible to secure significant savings for employers and insurers alike.
