Stephanie has managed a broad range of insurance claims from the perspectives of the different stakeholders and brings a holistic approach to the resolution of claims addressing them not only from a legal perspective but also mindful of commercial and reputational considerations.
Stephanie has acted in a diverse range of liability and professional claims. She has acted on behalf of retailers, cleaners, sporting associations, real estate agents, educational institutions, community groups and religious organisations, manufacturers, construction and engineering organisations, insurance brokers and agents, and a range of corporate clients in common law litigation as well as for and against the Victorian Work Cover Authority. She has handled claims for a range of government bodies including the Victorian WorkCover Authority, Department of Education and Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (as it is now named) and Corrections Victoria.
Stephanie has managed historic civil abuse claims, as well as redress applications to both the National Redress Scheme and the YMCA interim redress scheme which operated prior to July 2018.
Stephanie brings a unique perspective to the management of litigation, particularly in relation to historical abuse claims having regard to her extensive experience as a litigator and her involvement in such matters from the position of the client.
