Nick is an insurance lawyer with considerable experience in a broad range of insurance litigation work including public and product liability, property damage, Compulsory Third Party (CTP) claims, historical sexual abuse claims and general insurance claims.

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Nick has been involved in a plethora of interesting and complex litigated insurance matters. He has had the opportunity to be involved in a Supreme Court trial and an appeal for a personal injury claim heard in Rockhampton.

Nick has previously worked at several highly regarded insurance specialised law firms in both Brisbane and Melbourne.

Nick has an appetite for rigorously investigating matters to ascertain which strategy to adopt. He particularly enjoys mediations/conference where he is able to utilise his negotiating and advocacy skills to often obtain excellent outcomes for his clients.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Nick has acted in a number of significant cases including:

  • Acting in a Rockhampton Supreme Court matter (Carey-Schofield v Hays & Civeo [2024] QSC 60) involving a labour hire employee sustaining personal injuries after falling over a rubbish bag
  • Acting for an Airline Cleaning Company in a complex contractual indemnity matter which related to a personal injury claim
  • Acting for a Casino in a personal injuries claim where security guards forcibly removed a patron
