We combine the skills of our people, our brand, and our professional networks to champion causes that matter to us as a firm and as individuals, as well as to our clients. The firm and our employees donate funds and services to a broad range of organisations, both nationally, internationally and in the communities in which we operate.
Our community giving programs come in all shapes and sizes.
One of the ways in which we support the Indigenous community in particular, is through the establishment of ‘The Moray & Agnew Indigenous Shaping Futures Scholarship in Law’, in partnership with The University of Newcastle School of Law and Justice. This annual transformative scholarship enables us to support academically capable Indigenous law students who are facing disadvantage. These students are often at risk of not being able to complete their studies without receiving some financial support. Our scholarship supports a different student each year to assist with expenses such as accommodation, text books and equipment, day to day living, travel costs and work placements.
Other causes that we are proud to have supported include the Youngcare, Act for Kids and the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, by way of financial and event support, including fundraising for STEPtember. We have also partnered with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation, and in particular the Australian Congenital Cytomegalovirus Register, funding the employment of two research assistants to support all-important research from data collected from children with confirmed/probable cytomegalovirus born in Australasia.
