Why did you become a lawyer? I got a better year 12 mark then expected. My neighbours (who were both teachers) consequently talked me out of doing a Bachelor of Education, which is what I had intended to study. So I instead studied a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in accounting). Considering I don’t/won’t even do my own tax becoming a lawyer seemed like the smart choice between the two… Why Moray & Agnew? They offered, I accepted! Seriously, Morays when I joined in Brisbane had five staff members and had opened four months earlier. It seemed like a place where I would get exposure to quality work early, and the two lawyers for whom I was working seemed like (and were) the kind of people I would get along with – hard working, forthright and still keen to have a laugh/enjoy what they did for work. It was an easy choice. What do you enjoy outside of work? Spending time with my family. It is a cliché, but it is true. Otherwise, generally anything that doesn’t involve me staring at my laptop! Three words that sum you up Dry, blunt and surviving (aren’t we all).
