Duncan leads our Canberra property team bringing over 12 years’ experience advising private sector and government clients across Australia on all aspects of property law. Duncan provides timely and pragmatic advice to assist his clients achieve their objectives.

EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Duncan brings extensive experience in the property sector across all asset types and transactions, his experience includes:

  • Large scale and complex sales and acquisitions
  • Retail, commercial and industrial leasing
  • Staged and mixed use developments
  • Large scale infrastructure projects (including wind and solar farms)
  • Advisory work on property matters and disputes.

Duncan acts for a broad range of clients including state and federal government agencies, individuals, listed companies (both domestic and overseas), developers, builders, investment funds and real estate investment trusts.

Duncan joined Moray & Agnew as a Partner in 2025.

Duncan’s previous experience working in one of Australia’s largest consulting firms providing commercial and financial advisory services on property transactions brings a deeper understanding of the property development sector and clients commercial drivers.

Duncan has a proven track record of delivering positive outcomes for clients through his pragmatic and solutions driven advice and commercial acumen.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Some of Duncan’s major matters include

  • Acted for a listed entity in its sale of a $228m corporate office park in Sydney
  • Acting for the joint owners of a multi-building office park in Sydney in its lease negotiations for over 75,000 sqm of space (one of the largest commercial office deals at the time)
  • Acted on the divestment of a $132m sale of a large-scale shopping centre in Sydney NSW
  • Acted on the staged acquisition of multiple developed sites (+$100m value) to enable large scale residential redevelopment in St Leonards NSW
  • Acted on the divestment of $140m sale of a bulky goods retail centre in Casula NSW
  • Acted on the $45m divestment of a heavily contaminated site in central Sydney to a third party for the purposes of residential redevelopment
  • Acting for a State Government agency on the early stage development, planning and commercial & procurement strategy for high profile urban renewal project.
